Community Involvement

Galapagos Island - November 2003

During one charitable trip, Dr. Orr spent a week on Isle Isabela, the most remote of the inhabited Galapagos Islands of Ecuador.  During the week nearly 100 pediatric Oral & Maxillofacial surgical procedures were successfully performedSurgical hand pieces were adapted to run off scuba tanks because because no other source of compressed gas was avaialable.

Katrina Disaster - October 2005

Post Hurricane Katrina,  Dr. Orr donated his surgical services as the Chief Dental Officer.

Dr. Orr enjoys assisting nationally known veterinarian specialists with exotic animal patients. 
A lifetime member of the  Nation Ski Patrol, Dr. Orr is also the medical advisor for the Lee Canyon Ski Patrol.

Dr. Orr routinely takes emergency call in Las Vegas, such as at University Medical Center's Level I Trauma Unit, where he has coordinated all OMS trauma call since 1984 and has treated thousands of major facial injuries.

Dr. Orr is Professor and Director of OMS and Advanced Pain Control at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine.  He was selected as National OMS Professor of the Year in 2011-2012.
