Galapagos Islands 2003


     
During one charitable trip, Dr. Orr spent a week on Isla Isabela, the most remote of the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador.  During the week nearly 100 pediatric OMS procedures were performedSurgical hand pieces were adapted to run off scuba tanks because because no other source of compressed gas was avaialable.

Dr. Orr served as an OMS officer of FEMA's NV-1 DMAT team in the New Orleans suburb of Belle Chasse, Louisiana.

Dr. Orr is a Senior Classified, Lifetime Member of the  Nation Ski Patrol and Medical Advisor for the Lee Canyon Ski Patrol.




Dr. Orr has coordinated OMS trauma at University Medical Center's Level I Trauma Center since 1984 and has treated thousands of major facial injuries.  He has been a member the Sports Medicine groups for UNLV, the LV 51's, the NFR, and others since the early 1980's.

Dr. Orr is Professor and Director of OMS and Anesthesiology at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine, where he was selected as National OMS Undergraduate Professor of the Year in 2011-2012.
